I don’t have a lot to report this week. I didn’t lose ANY weight..and I contribute that to having 2 very sick babies, being exhausted, and eating like crap. We ate out more than I want to admit because we were too tired to cook anything (and a little was probably stress eating). Oh well, tomorrow is a new week! My goal for this week is to lose 3 lbs. I plan to do that by NOT eating out this week and hitting up the gym every day for a 4 mile run. The usual!
This Saturday my husband and I ran my 2nd 5K of the year: The Popsicle Run. When the race started it was a freezing 15 degrees outside…and the catch of the race is that runners eat a popsicle before, during, and after the run. I learned a lot of running lessons during this race, the first of which is to ALWAYS WARM UP, especially in the winter! At the end of the first 1/4 mile I seriously thought I wasn’t going to be able to run any farther..my bones and muscles were just in pain. By the time I finished mile 2 I was finally starting to warm up and be comfortable running. This course was incredibly hilly. At the end of the first 1/2 mile was a huge hill, and then at the top of the hill we turned onto Main St. which is an incline for about a mile. It was rough.
My favorite part of the race was the last 1/4 mile. I was catching up to the runner in front of me, basically sprinting, and passed her. When she realized I was passing her she started sprinting, and we had a full-on race to the finish. I won
