Ohh the great Walmart baby food debacle. If you aren’t sure what I’m talking about, you can read about the issue I had HERE.
I posted that blogpost and contacted Walmart 10000 different ways. I tweeted them, contacted them via Facebook, and contacted them via their website. I got a LOT of follows from different Walmart stores on Twitter, and Walmart DM’d me on Twitter asking for my contact information. I gave it to them, and then 4 days later received the following email:
I would like to introduce myself to you. I am the Market Manager for Walmart that oversees the 9 stores in the Winston Salem area. I understand we had some issues in our Mocksville store, and want you to rest assured this is not something we take lightly. I have been with Walmart 27 years and raised three children and a soon to be grandson on Walmart baby products and truly understand your concern. We have put some additional checks in place in this store to make absolutely sure this will not happen again. I want you to know I am available for any concern you have with our stores and feel free to contact me at the numbers below if there is anything I can help you with. My sincere apologies for our oversight. Thanks for shopping with us and have a great weekend.
I’m not sure what I think. I hope this manager is being honest and this doesn’t happen anymore to other families…but Walmart has said they’d handle it in the past and didn’t. I guess I’ll just stick to my plan of not shopping at Walmart anymore and hope other parents are educating themselves about how to look for out for their littles while baby food shopping! Check those dates!
