 I am super excited to announce that I was accepted into the Mamavation Sistahood 😉 This means access to lots of resources and people that can help and encourage me on my way to my goal weight..and it gives me the opportunity to practice giving back to a community as well!
Since last week I haven’t lost ANY weight, even though I’ve run 12.37 miles in the last 7 days. What gives? It’s starting to get annoying. And I know, everyone says, “It’s not about the number, it’s about how your clothes fit. Well, everything is getting smaller (slowly) but my belly…which is the part the controls the pants size, haha. I’m starting to wonder if I’m not eating enough calories on run days (which is basically 6/7 days a week normally).This is what my diet looks like a lot of the time:
Breakfast: A piece of peanut butter toast. Calories: 250
Lunch: A turkey sandwich on wheat and some sunchips: About 500 calories
Dinner: Who knows. Maybe chili, maybe grilled chicken and veggies, maybe some pizza (not too often, but maybe once a week). Let’s call it 600-700 calories. 
Snacks: Some days I’ll eat a bowl of cheerios for a snack, but most of the time I grab a banana. 
Drinks: I only drink water unless I’m out to eat, which isn’t often. About once a week I’ll have a glass of chocolate milk as a treat.
So, on a NORMAL day (not every day) I consume about 1450 calories. If I eat a bowl of cheerios or find something else to munch on, we’ll call it 1600-1700 calories. 
WELL, then I run. My runs burn between 300-350 calories per run. If I don’t do runs, I’m doing Bodypump classes, which burn about the same amount. So, at the end of the day, on an average day, I net about 1400 calories. I’m thinking that’s probably not enough to keep me going during the day. I’ve been keeping track of my food on My Fitness Pal, so it isn’t that I’m eating things that I don’t realize I’m eating and packing away more calories than I realize.
 This is another reason that I don’t buy into the whole, ” Weight loss is EASY! Burn more than you take in!” I AM burning a lot more than I take in! And I’m taking in a lot less than necessary to maintin my weight, and then burning on top of that. Fruustrattinnng! I’m even making very conscious healthier choices. Much less processed foods (almost none..), upping the fruits and veggies. My husband had tator  tots and a hamburger for dinner the other night…I didn’t even touch a tator tot and steamed some broccoli, skipped the mayo, and used natural cheese on my hamburger. Come on now! When is all of this going to pay off? I’ve been at it since this summer. 
I DO think that I’m going to make it my goal to only weigh once a week. I am seriously obsessed with weighing and I think it’s hindering me. Instead of focusing on LOSING and making good choices all day, weighing all the time puts my focus on just not gaining.
I can’t end on such a horrible note, so here is my positive for this week: My quads are getting JACKED from all this running! 😉 
Does anyone have any resources for figuring out a magic calorie number? Is too few calories a real thing? Any tips or tricks? Experiences that were similar?   I’d love to hear them in the comments section!
